Section 4: Tickets & Pricing

This is Section 4 of your Site Setup, and it’s a required one. It’s where you decide how your ticket numbers look and behave. Quick heads-up before we start: this page controls numbering, not bundle prices. The actual “5 tickets for $20” packages get built over in the Ticket Packages tool — more on that at the bottom.

Set your starting number and prefix #

  • Starting Ticket Number — where your ticket count begins. Plenty of organizations start at something like 5001 instead of 1, so early tickets don’t scream “you’re buyer number two.”
  • Ticket Prefix — a short tag in front of every number. We add the dash for you, so typing RAF gives you tickets like RAF-5001.

Two toggles worth understanding #

  • Successive Numbers — issues consecutive numbers within a single order. Buy five tickets, get five in a row. Supporters love seeing RAF-5001 through RAF-5005 land together.
  • Include Order ID in Ticket Numbers — tucks the order ID into the ticket number, which makes life dramatically easier if you’re ever reconciling paper entries by hand.
Reality check. Once your event has started, ticket numbering locks. No changing the prefix, the start number, or the toggles after sales begin — because changing them would rewrite tickets people already bought. Get this right now, while it’s still cheap to change.
☎ From the Raffle Hotline — The Ticket Bundle Argument

A caller once told us, and we quote, “your software seems stupid — why would you offer bundles like 1, 5, 10, or 25 tickets? What if someone wants to buy 3?”

Here’s the thing. Across thousands of raffles, single-ticket buyers average about $11 an order. Bundle buyers average about $64 an order. Same supporters, same cause — six times the contribution, just from how the options are framed. The person who wanted 3 tickets buys the 5-pack, feels good about it, and your cause comes out ahead. Bundles aren’t a trick. They’re just how generosity likes to be offered.

So where do prices live? #

Not here. This section is purely about how tickets are numbered. Your bundle pricing (how many tickets for how much) is set up separately in the Ticket Packages tool, where the minimum is $1.00 per ticket and every new package gets a quick review by our team before it goes live.

Pro tip. Offer three or four bundle tiers — something small, something in the middle, and a “big supporter” option. That middle tier is where most orders land, and it’s the single easiest lever on your total raised.
